- How do I earn Miles?
You earn Double Miles on up to $3,000 in travel and restaurant purchases each year. You also earn 1 Mile for every $1 you spend on all your other business or personal purchases, including travel and restaurant purchases in excess of $3,000.
Travel purchases are those made on commercial airline tickets, hotel rooms, car rentals, cruises, tour operators, and vacation packages purchased through airlines, travel agents, and online travel sites. Restaurant purchases are those made at full-service restaurants, cafes, cafeterias, and fast food locations.

- Is there a limit to the number of Miles I can earn?
- There is NO limit to the number of Miles you can earn—every purchase provides you with an opportunity to earn Miles, so they add up faster.
- Will my Miles expire?
- Miles have no expiration date. However, if your account is inactive for 18 consecutive months or is closed for any reason or if you fail to make the Minimum Payment due by the payment due date for two consecutive billing periods, any Miles earned will be forfeited. - Where do I find the number of Miles I have available to redeem?
- You can always find your Miles balance under "Miles Available to Redeem" on the first page of your monthly Miles by Discover Card statement. Or, log into the Account Center to view your Miles statement online. Not registered for the Account Center? Register now.
- For new purchases, when will I see the Miles on my statement?
- Miles earned will be added to your Miles account at the end of each billing period and will appear on your monthly statement. However, in some instances, such as when you receive promotional offers from us, it may take up to eight weeks for Miles to be added to your Miles account. If you have questions about Miles which have not posted to your Miles account, call 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683) and a Customer Service Representative will assist you.
- Can I transfer Miles from another card or frequent flier program to my Miles Card account?
- No, you can't transfer Miles from another program. But you'll have many opportunities to earn new Miles, so they'll add up before you know it.
- If I report my Discover Card lost or stolen and am reissued a new card, will my Miles be transferred to my new account?
- Yes, we will automatically transfer your Miles to your new Miles Card account.
- How do I apply for the Miles by Discover Card?
- You can apply for the Miles Card online or over the phone by calling 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683).
